some days you just want to cry.
sometimes you try so hard and, it just doesn't ever seem to get you anywhere.
keep churning those legs...keep moving your feet.
i forgot what movie this was from. it might have been Catch Me If You Can.
actually now that i think about it, i'm sure of it.
anyway the dad gives a speech and says: (disclaimer: i can't remember the exact wording)
"There were once two mice who fell into a bucket of milk, they both scrambled to get free.
The first mouse eventually gave up and drowned.
The second mouse refused to quit. He kept trying, kept moving those legs.
Finally, one day, after days of continuously churning those legs, he churned milk into butter,
and walked right out of that bucket."
amen.
I want to be that second mouse. But what happens you've been realizing you been living your life like the first? Is it ever too late to make a change? I've seen many second half come backs...hell, I've seen some memorable 4th quarter come backs.
Only problem is...people like to compare life to a game. And in many ways it is. But comebacks in sports, aren't always about sheer determination. Many times you need the other team to have a mental breakdown, mental lapses, momentum swings, anxiety...etc
Life is hardcore kiddies. It doesn't ever break down. It's the ironman, the energizer bunny, the Superman...
but u know what?
iron rusts.
batteries die out.
and kryptonite is just a magical green rock.
exactly.
believe and you can achieve. don't simply want to achieve. set goals. set targets. wanting something isn't enough. only then can you realize your true potential.
i've been told my whole life i'm a slacker---well my life's not done yet. there's plenty ways to go.
o yes. many more roads to travel and many more experiences to remember....i can smell it already.
